Carol City's Denzel Curry is on his king shit with his brand new album Imperial, releasing the project via Soundcloud on Wednesday (March 9). On the heels of his "Knotty Head" update with a newly added Rick Ross verse, Curry drops off a 10-piece that additionally features Joey Bada$$ and Vares Of Twelve’len.

Curry's buzz has been steadily growing ever since he departed from SpaceGhostPurrp's Raider Klan years ago. Last year's double EP 32 Zel/Planet Mushrooms was quietly one of the best rap projects to drop in 2015, showcasing both Curry's hardcore side as well as his improved songwriting.

Speaking of hardcore, the young Curry has spoken on his affinity for metal in the past. When asked if he listens to Metallica, the Florida MC told The Hundreds, "Yeah, I got Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning. I was at Best Buy one day, and I was buying albums—Stankonia, 2pac albums, and I saw those and was like, “Yo, this shit look hard as fuck!” I picked it up, started listening to it, and it’s crazy. I was watching Terminator at the time, and it had the same feel."

He also spoke on the visual appeal of Metallica: "Yeah. Master of Puppets is straight—it’s just a bunch of crosses, anyone could do that—but Ride the Lightning has lightning and [an] electric chair. It’s raw. It just has a crazy feeling."

Check out Denzel's new album up top, as it also features a dope verse from Pro Era leader Joey Bada$$.
