While the trap rap scene flourishes in Atlanta there is a growing group of artists whose genre can only be described as "other" as it mixes elements of rap, rock, R&B, jazz and more. Rome Fortune is one of those artists. After bubbling on the music scene for a few years as an MC to look out for in the ATL, Fortune drops his debut LP, Jerome Raheem Fortune.

The project clocks in at 11 tracks and is surprisingly featureless showing that RF is ready to make his own lane without the influence of outside help, similar to Kevin Gates' debut last month. Dropping via Fool's Gold Records, the LP contains production from frequent collaborator Cubby, Kaytranada and more, and features the previously released songs "Love" and "Dance" for which he dropped a video for late last year. Overall the album is mostly a contemplative piece which finds Rome keeping it real about ongoing issues in his life.

While this is his first LP, Fortune is no stranger to the ATL rap scene. He has dropped 10 EP and mixtape projects in the last four years including Beautiful Pimp in 2013, Drive, Thighs, & Lies with producer Dun Deal in 2014 and the OG Maco collab project YEP last year. A short jail stint halted his progress in early 2015, but since coming home it's been all about the music.
