One year ago, The Jacka was tragically killed in an East Oakland shooting. The Bay Area rapper may have never been a household name, but he left an indelible mark on anyone who worked with him or listened to his music. The Jacka was highly respected and one of those hidden gems in the game that diehard rap fans came to love. Sadly, his life was cut short by violence.

In honor of the late rapper, Philthy Rich, Freeway and Paul Wall have come together to pay respect to their friend. All three men collaborated with The Jacka many times over their respective careers, so it's understandable why they would want to give back to The Jacka's legacy in some way. Freeway, in particular, had even recorded two full length projects with The Jacka.

The AK47 produced "King Jack" sees Philthy Rich, Freeway and Paul Wall reflecting on their memories of their friend while also hoping that the violence that took The Jacka's life away comes to an end. The song also features audio clips of The Jacka, making his presence felt in a special way.

"King Jack" is a loving tribute and accomplishes its goal of celebrating the life of The Jacka. While The Jacka may be gone, his legacy lives on through his music and in the work of other artists he touched. The track will appear on Philthy Rich's upcoming album Real N---as Back in Style, which is scheduled to drop on Feb. 26.
