After a seemingly decade long sabbatical, Missy Elliott made her return to the spotlight with a super turnt halftime show performance at Super Bowl XLIX, last year. Just hours before this year's big game, the Virginia female rap legend uploads her latest single, the sports-themed ditty, "Pep Rally."

Elliott rarely comes with anything less than "stand up and dance" worthy, and this joint is no different. The heavily Go-Go influenced track is mega amped as it is paced with a flurry of bongos and blurting whistles. You can hear the animation in Missy's voice as she spits with a fervor we've all become accustomed to.

On the track, Missy tosses out a number of sports related similes rapping, "I got a nice round woo like a watermelon/Aw, yeah you play the point guard/Hitting three corners, man, they playing real hard/My team be with it, yeah, so keep your day job/I turn around and make it bounce like a basketball."

Later on, Misdemeanor calls out dance moves to be performed to the butt-moving beat, "It goes left foot, it goes right foot/It goes left foot, it goes right foot/Catch the wall, touch them toes/Turn around like it's gold/Back it up, back it up, so you know you got control."

The video is sure to be super lit, in regular Missy fashion. Hopefully we get a new album from the talented entertainer this year, which will be her first since 2005's The Cookbook.
