Valentine's Day is over but Lil' Kim and Kevin Gates still have love on their mind.

On "Mine," the two raunchy MCs embrace their inner freak and profess their mutual love of Future, penchant for sex that would make conservatives blush and high-end fashion. While Kim is listed as the lead artist and gives a strong performance, Gates steals the show thanks to a well-executed hook and strong verses.

With the amount of airtime he gets, the Notorious K.I.M. sounds like the guest. "Mine" is another notch on Gates' belt as the Baton Rouge, La. native continues his hot streak to start 2016.

After numerous delays and release date push backs, Gates finally dropped his Islah album on Jan. 29. The Bread Winner's Association's fans backed the rapper in a big way and the project debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart with an impressive 112,000 records sold. Gates pushed Adele's 25 to No. 3 and the No. 2 debut was easily the best of his career. With Islah and Rihanna's ANTI locking down the first two spots, it was the first time since Oct. 24, 2015 that two artists from the hip-hop/R&B genre topped the chart. On that date, Janet Jackson's Unbreakable and The Weeknd's Beauty Behind the Madness charted at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.

Gates released "Kno One," the lead single from Islah, way back in 2015 and never wavered on proclaiming that his album would drop despite it taking seven months to finally retail. The persistence is a testament to the rapper's success thus far and a big reason why he has one of the more loyal and aggressive fan bases in hip-hop.
