Joey Badass is back at it. The former XXL Freshman, who released his studio debut B4.Da.$$ last year, is scheduled to release a new album later this year according to Hot 97 and Beats 1 Radio's Ebro Darden. To kick off the hype for that new LP, Joey Badass dropped the new single "Ready" produced by Statik Selektah.

The track is Joey Badass at his best as he rhymes over the boom bap production of Statik Selektah. The Pro Era rapper delivers some slick bars that fans have come to expect from the Brooklyn MC.

"N---as think because we conscious we don't really get it popping/They forgot we from the bottom/They forgot we had to fight for every nickel every dollar/Before the money and the power/You could ask my n---a Powers I've been putting in these hours/Plotting domination now the world is ours/Tell me why they hating, it's cause of what I'm making/And if you a little patient it's 'gon be what I'm taking/They got me mistaken/Critics try to box me/I feel like Rocky when it come to paparazzi/Somebody stop me, fucking up my kamikaze/I'm on my 47 shit, like how could you not see," Joey Badass raps.

He also takes a select shot at Troy Ave towards the end of the song, but you'll only catch it if you're listening closely.

The track is a perfect way to get the buzz rolling for Joey Badass' new album, even if it does not end up on the project. But Joey's not just keeping busy with his music as the 21-year-old artist is getting involved in the lecture circuit. Joey spoke to a group of 300 students at New York University this past Friday (Feb. 19) and will speak to students at Harvard this week.
