Young Thug's steady stream of new music in 2015 would be enough to hold off most fan bases for at least a couple of months. But less than a quarter of a year after the Atlanta rapper dropped his acclaimed Slime Season 2, his followers are already clamoring for the third installment of the series. In the mean time, a new song has leaked onto the Internet.

"Serious" is produced by Isaac Flame and is a wonderfully absurd cut in a catalog full of them, with Thug warbling in and out of the drum patterns before he snaps back to a familiar clipped, staccato flow. Though there's little in the way of official information on the track, fans have already speculated that it might be included on Slime Season 3, which Thug's camp has suggested is dropping imminently. That tape also includes the song Thug has played live at several recent shows, which opens, "Fuck cancer, shout out to Boosie," in a show of solidarity with the legendary Baton Rouge rapper Boosie BadAzz and his recent cancer diagnosis. (He is reportedly cancer-free after an operation to remove part of his kidney.)

Last year saw the release of two other records from the young rapper: September's Slime Season and April's Barter 6, which was initially billed as an album but was repurposed as a mixtape when its release date grew closer. A retail debut is expected to be issued some time this year.
