Wale Crafts a New Theme Song for ESPN’s ‘First Take’

Wale hit the studio the craft a brand new theme for ESPN's morning debate show First Take. The new theme debuted on the today's (Jan. 7) episode of the show.

The D.C. rapper also recorded First Take's previous theme back in 2013, but he and producers decided to create a new one for 2016. The new theme is called "Every Word Great" and comes with a brand new opening video for the song. Wale spoke about how eager he was to record the theme song.

"Being asked to write the new theme song to First Take is a big deal to me being such a big sports fan and former college athlete," Wale said. "I was honored when they asked me to write the current one, and jumped at the opportunity when they asked if I'd write the new one. I grew up on ESPN and now I'm writing their theme songs? Man, that's what this whole EveryBlueMoon movement is about. Plus, Skip [Bayless], Molly [Qerim] and Stephen A. [Smith] are family."
