Kodak Black is a rising name on the Southern underground scene who is poised to blow in 2016 due in part to his late 2015 street hit "SKRT." Roy Wood$ saw the potential in the sleeper track and decided to remix it to his own tastes.

Last night (Jan. 30), OVO Sound Radio was once again spinning exclusives, pumping out the new Drake record "Summer Sixteen" and Nas' remix of Future's "March Madness." They also debuted OVO's own Roy Wood$' new "SKRT (Remix)." That's "skrt" as in the noise a car's tires make when it pulls off fast. Unlike Gucci Mane's "skrt" which is the sound a fork makes when it scrapes against a glass pot. There's a difference.

Utilizing the same dreamy SkipOnDaBeat instrumental and Kodak Black chorus, Roy taps into his ghostly falsetto which is a total flip from hearing KB's raspy rhymes on the track.

XXL chopped it up with Kodak Black a couple weeks ago fresh off the release of his new 24-track mixtape Institution. While he has big plans for the game, he's definitely not trying to be more famous than rich, word to Pusha T. "I feel like in this rap shit you can’t really try to go for too long; bitches try and get at you," he said. "Then when you try to stay at it for too long, it looks like there’s an image you’re trying to put on. Over here ain’t no image. I’m just going to make my couple mill and fall back, fuck the fame."
