Looking back, it's clear that 2015 was another banner year for Chicago. Despite the national music press largely moving on from the city's drill scene, its flagship artists continue to churn out aggressive, daring and visceral music. Near the top of that list is Lil Bibby, whose Free Crack 3 is yet another impressive offering. As he continues to tease the release of his debut studio album, FC3: The Epilogue, he drops off a new single.

"Can't Trust a Soul" was released today (Jan. 14) in two installments--first the audio, then the video. The latter is refreshingly simple, a low-concept romp through industrial parks and billiards halls with plenty of guns in tow. Bibby continues to leverage his full, guttural voice against rolling trap hi-hats to the end of a wearied, nihilistic vision.

Bibby's most important creative partnership is with G Herbo, the artist formerly known as Lil Herb. They rose to prominence through the mixtape ranks together, and since the releases of Free Crack 3 and Herb's Ballin' Like I'm Kobe last fall, they've issued a pair of singles together: "Get 2 Bussin" and "Sleepin' on the Floor." They also appeared together in the video for Kobe's "Don't Worry."

Bibby was chosen as a member of XXL's Freshman class in 2014. Watch his profile for the cover story below.
