Just a few months ago, Blackalicious released their first album in a decade. While that may seem like a long time, it wasn't a big deal to the duo.

"It’s not like we’re really coming back together, because we never really broke up, you know? We just were in a place where we wanted to do different things for a second," Gift of Gab told XXL.

Gift of Gab and Chief Xcel have always been favorites of the underground rap scene, but the duo earned some surprising recognition in recent years via their 1999 classic "Alphabet Aerobics." Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe rapped it on The Tonight Show last year, introducing the song to a whole new audience. Not long after, a Texas reporter did the same. And now it seems the song will take on a whole new life.

Blackalicious teamed up with Bleacher Report to create a new rendition of the song. While the track maintains the original Cut Chemist production of "Alphabet Aerobics," Gift of Gab delivers a whole new collection of sports-related wordplay for this new version dubbed "Sports Alphabet." The accompanying video is equally impressive with a different style of animation being used for each letter of the alphabet. This is an effective way to add new life to an old song and hopefully gain more attention for Blackalicious' comeback album Imani Vol. 1.
