The last two months have belonged mostly to Young Thug, the prolific Atlanta rapper who dropped two installments of his Slime Season mixtape series a mere six weeks apart, each to critical acclaim. The second of the two efforts features "Never Made Love," a heartbreaking ballad that briefly reunites Thug with Rich Homie Quan, his fellow Georgian with whom he dropped last year's phenomenal Tha Tour, Pt. 1 as Rich Gang. Quan has had a mixed year of sorts: a handful of starkly personal songs over two mixtapes, plus a major hit in "Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)." But an ongoing lawsuit with his label, Think It's a Game Entertainment, has hampered proceedings. Here, Quan forges on with the Goose-produced "Carlito." Says the producer: "This is one of my favorite songs we've made. Quan's showing he can hang with the best in the game when it comes to lyrics."
