Well over two decades into his career, R. Kelly is showing no signs of slowing down. Though the number of songs he recorded might be exaggerated--Kells claims it's approaching 500--one can be assured that the Chicago legend has been locked in the studio working on his forthcoming album, The Buffet. Today (Nov. 16), we're greeted by one of the 13 that made the final cut. "Wake Up Everybody"'s title is an imperative, as one might expect from Kelly. And while his neighbors might not appreciate the sentiment, it rings as a comparatively chaste love song following Black Panties. Kelly finds himself the subject of much media controversy due to a careful, considered profile from Vulture's David Marchese that takes into account both the unparalleled musical success and the constant rumors of sexual misconduct that have dogged his career.
