G-Eazy first gained renown as something between a novelty and a pragmatist. On the one hand, he was delivering the kind of Tumblr-ready party rap for white, college-aged audiences that someone has to make--a lucrative lane, to be sure. On the other hand, he was doing it with slicked-back hair and imagery that pre-dates rap, or even disco. But the Bay Area MC has parlayed that quick fame into a chance to further tell his own story, and to embed himself in his hometown's rap lore. His new album, When It's Dark Out, is slated for Dec. 4; his new single, the Starrah-featuring "Order More" is available now.
