How quickly the power dynamics shift. A year ago, Fetty Wap was a relative unknown, with his "Trap Queen" buzz in its infancy. The one-eyed wonder from Patterson, NJ parlayed that into a spot on this year's XXL Freshman cover, a run of singles that ruled Billboard and a self-titled debut that fully articulated his blend of Atlanta rap and East coast sensibilities. Now, he has the power to co-sign other up-and-comers--and that's just what he does here, lending his distinctive voice to "Jealous" by Atlantic signee PnB Rock. Like Fetty, Rock hails from the coast, in his case Philadelphia. Speaking to XXL just after he inked that deal, PnB helped to explain his own blend of styles, citing 2Pac and Jodeci as early influences. On "Jealous," the pair teams up for the a buoyant ode to anything and everything foreign.
