Drake has been candid about his desire to push "Hotline Bling," his Timmy Thomas-sampling summer hit, to #1 on Billboard. Its initial online burn (as a remix of D.R.A.M.'s "Cha Cha") couldn't quite do it, nor could its instantly GIF-able video, released this month through Apple Music. And where the authorship controversy between the Canadian superstar and the up-and-comer from Virginia has drawn Drake's critics out of the woodwork, it's also kept the song in headlines. Still, he hasn't been able to unseat his one-time protege The Weeknd, whose "Can't Feel My Face" relinquished the top spot only to his own "The Hills." But this should help: a cell phone recording of what appears to be Justin Bieber's "Hotline Bling" remix has hit the Internet, and predictably sent it into a frenzy. There's no official word on further collaborations, but Nas has been confirmed for Bieber's new album.
