G Herbo (formally known as Lil' Herb) has signed to Cinematic Music Group. Cinematic has partnered with Chicago label Machine Entertainment and G Herbo's own imprint, 150 Dream Team. Jonny Shipes, founder of Cinematic Music Group, spoke to XXL about what he sees in the the 19-year-old MC that makes him special.

"Ive been a fan of Herb since I first heard Welcome To Fazoland," he said. "The name of the company is Cinematic because whoever, whatever type of artist that can paint that picture, whether it be street music or conscious music, whatever it is, reggae, he's going to paint a picture that's cinematic via the music. I think with Herb, I feel like I'm walking the streets of Chicago with him when I listen to him. Aside from him being a really dope rapper, storyteller and vivid painter, the youth fucks with him super hard. I have been in talks with Machine Entertainment and basically we just kept talking. I went down to Chicago, I had Herb at SXSW at the Smokers Clubhouse and it just made sense. We kind of like worked a little bit on a trial period, trying to get it together and now it's finalized and I'm excited. I think we're going to do some special shit with him."

Fans can expect Herbo's new mixtape Ballin' Like I'm Kobe to drop soon. Herb will also gear up to release his debut album in 2016. His most recent projects were Pistol P Project (Dec. 2014) and his fantastic debut Welcome To Fazoland (Feb. 2014). Shipes told us what to expect now that Herbo is officially Cinematic

"We're putting out Ballin' Like I'm Kobe mixtape, latest in October but it's probably coming in September," said Shipes over the phone. "We're going to do a whole bunch of visuals, really nice and put together. Then he's going to go on The Smokers Club Tour this fall. So like 30-40 cities this fall. Then next year we will put out his debut album." Peep the artwork for Ballin' Like I'm Kobe below.
