Over the weekend, Sean Price died at the age of 43. Details of his health at the time of his death or more generally were not immediately available, but a statement from his camp indicates the revered MC passed away in his sleep at his Brooklyn apartment. Under the rap name Ruck, Price first appeared as a member of Heltah Skeltah, the duo who put out a pair of critically and commercially successful albums in 1996 and 1998. When he resurfaced as a solo artist in 2005, Price dropped Monkey Barz, a record that is still considered by many to be his finest work. Two more solo efforts followed (most recently 2012's Mic Tyson), with another, Songs in the Key of Price, due out on the 21st of this month. Now, Mac Miller has liberated "Pet Sounds," a song the two had in the vault. Miller hopes it will help drive people to the fundraising page set up to benefit Price's family. At press time, the effort had generated $76,318 for Price's wife and three children.
