It's almost time for primary season, which means that politicians from both sides of the aisle are scrambling to shore up allies and throw shots at foes, to form coalitions for and against every other person in their Rolodex. So it makes sense that Shy Glizzy, one of Washington, DC's most promising young talents, would be doing the same thing. Enlisting 30 Glizzy, Young Jose and 3 Glizzy from his aptly-named Glizzy Gang, the Young Jefe rapper tries his hand at Rico Richie's surprise hit single, "Poppin." Already remixed by French Montana, Chris Brown and the song's earliest champion, Meek Mill, the 808 Mafia-produced song has gone from regional hit to minor national sensation in a matter of weeks. (The first thing former Pacers and Hornets guard Lance Stephenson did after being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers was drop his own version.) Here, however, Glizzy and his cohorts show that no matter who else gets in on the action, you can't win in an election year without mobilizing the bass.
