On top of having one of the rap world's greatest names, Chicago group Hurt Everybody have teamed up with one of their hometown's brightest young stars for their highest-profile single to date. Prone to Eastern mythology and occult imagery, they pull Mick into their orbit for "Social Network," where the notion of the friend is punctuated by sharp, barked repetitions of the word "gang." If you're worried your 4th of July celebrations will lack the requisite amount of politically-bent debauchery, 2K47 drops that morning. The tape will come complete with artwork for each individual song, plus an explanatory paragraph for each. As Supa Bwe says, it "isn't your run-of-the-mill bullshit mixtape." He goes on: "It's a nearly invincible body of work. A collective catharsis. The underdogs apotheosis." It would be tempting to say that Hurt Everybody are setting the bar too high for themselves, but "Social Network" makes it sound as if they're just being honest.
