DJ Quik Hits the Road in “Puffin Tha Dragon” Video
DJ Quik drops the music video for his single "Puffin Tha Dragon," which finds the rapper on a cross country adventure. Directed by Sawa, the video borrows imagery from the Terry Gilliam-directed film Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas (1998). The visuals for "Puffin Tha Dragon" was shot in the deserts of California and Las Vegas. "Puffin Tha Dragon" is a cut off of Quik's latest album, The Midnight Life, which was released last year.
Quik takes a ride in a beautiful mint green Oldsmobile Cutlass as he drives to Vegas with something peculiar in his trunk. "Still the one man band, still a hip hop fan/ A producer from Old Spruce, but with a mic and a band/ I’m not as passionate about it, but I hit now and then," he raps. The Compton, Calif. rap-pioneer captures the vibe of the song perfectly with the visuals. The record is super smooth and is made for long rides in your car.
