Troy Ave Brings New York Back in “June 5th” Video

On June 5, Troy Ave let loose of his new solo album, Major Without a Deal. It's a thoroughly New York effort, both in its construction--it sports features from Cam'ron, Jadakiss, Fabolous, A$AP Ferg, 50 Cent, even Diddy and Ma$e--and its rollout. The effort to turn each record into an Event takes a bit of planning and a lot of muscle. Troy Ave tried to sidestep bootleggers and the constant inundation of news and names and dates by making his album's release an event in and of itself. "June 5th" served as a promotional single and de facto calendar marker. Now, it receives the video treatment, with a no-frills treatment that calls for little more than and ankle bracelet and impressive stacks of hundred-dollar bills.
