Stream Tory Lanez and WEDIDIT’s New EP

Toronto rapper Tory Lanez adds another notch in his catalog dropping a new EP with L.A. musical collective WEDIDIT titled Cruel Intentions. The T-Dot rapper last released a project in October with the Lost Cause mixtape preceded by Chixtape II last March. This project seems to be more spur of the moment. Lanez chopped it up with Fader, and revealed he and the guys started working together late last year and ended up vibing to the point where they put together an entire project of material. The whole thing happened organically.

"I’m naturally a guy who... I close everybody out. I’m not usually in the studio with people," he said of how the project came together. "This time, as I was recording—because I don’t really write stuff on paper, I just record it on the spot—I would take suggestions from other people. Like, “How do you feel about this? Do you think I should word this better?” They gave their opinions, and we collectively came up with the song."

Lanez mostly puts away the rough stuff and the project has a ominous R&B feel which sounds Weeknd-esqe. "Go do what it makes you feel like doing," said Lanez of what vibe listeners should get from the project. "It’s a good piece of music to reflect to. There’s fun parts of it, there’s sad parts of it: all the moods in such a small compilation. Feel good, go fuck somebody."

Cruel Intentions contains production from RL Grime, Shlohmo, Baauer, Play Picasso and D33J.
