For his latest effort, precocious Atlanta upstart Wara From The NBHD teams up with Conner Youngblood for a rock-infused song called "Down Since Birth." Youngblood, a Nashville-based musician whose solo work blends indie rock and electronic music, provides a pulsing guitar line (and, in the song's latter half, spaced-out vocals); Wara leverages both to make "Down Since Birth" one of his most menacing cuts to date. Wara's most recent project was this January's If Guns Could Speak EP, weaves clever coming-of-age tails into social commentary that thankfully steers clear of the soapbox. He first rose to prominence last year with a daring EP called Kidnapped.
