Though Boosie's album is little more than a week away, Kevin Gates is still vying for a piece of that Best Rapper In Baton Rouge crown. The "Arm & Hammer" star took to the 'Net today to drop "Khaza," a technical, orchestral ode to GEDs and the necessary kinds of war. In the course of the cut, he shouts out a wildly disparate set of people, from the world's most famous ("Beyonce followed me on Instagram, Jigga, watch it") to the South's best kept secrets (Gates mentions Kodak Black, a 17-year-old phenom from Florida who has received almost zero national attention). Most curious is a line--"You know I got a lot of record labels trying to sign me"--that would be innocuous coming from an aspiring rapper. But in context, could it indicate that all is not well with Gates and his Atlantic deal? The song, produced by The MeKanics & Yung Ladd, is named after Gates' son.
