Freddie Gibbs Dodges Snakes in “Pronto” Video

Earlier this year, after making his doubters shake in their boots with 2014's phenomenal Madlib collaboration, Piñata, Gary, Indiana's Freddie Gibbs surprised fans with a three-song EP called Pronto. It showcases Gibbs at his unflappable best, merging Bone Thugs-N-Harmony-style dexterity with unnerving, glamour-less details of the criminal underworld. Now the title track gets the video treatment, complete with a bathtub full of snakes that--surprise--do nothing to rattle the rapper. What might catch longtime observers by surprise is the degree to which Gibbs is animated in the clip, his eyes bulging as he gesticulates wildly. If "Pronto" and the rest of the brief EP are any indication, his forthcoming full-length, Eastside Slim, should be another unimpeachable effort.
