The video for Murs' "Okey Dog" is released. In the music video, the Strange Music signee tells a story to two children about one of the toughest guys in the West Coast. Murs talks about the inspiration behind the single.

"'Okey Dog' is a song about one of the toughest dudes I know," said the hip-hop vet to Strange Music. "I’ve been wanting to write this song forever and I never had the right beat. He’s currently locked down right now. That’s all I’ll say about that. He’s just an amazing dude. You ever seen a 5’9″ dude hit a 6’7″ dude with a trashcan and be ready to knock him out? I’ve seen this dude do so many amazing, infamous things, that I had to write a song about him."

The L.A. native is preparing for the release of his new album Have A Nice Life, which is due out May 19. Have A Nice Life primarily produced by Jesse Shatkin and is Murs first Strange Music solo project, following 2014’s collaborative album with ¡Mayday!, ¡MursDay!

“My former manager told me this is supposed to be the ‘quintessential MURS album,’” he said. “Jay Z is the ex-crack dealer, hustler rapper. Rick Ross is the Tony Montana rapper. I feel like I have a duality and I’m hard to classify. There’s a duality to the album."
