Teen rap upstart Chris Miles returns today with the video for his track "Something." The song resides on his recent EP Birth of Cool which hit the Internet last December. In the clip, the New York rapper gives a brief glimpse into his come up as an MC. He first deals with pressures at home before facing initial rejection of his music from outsiders, including his own record label. But in the end things turn out in his favor.

XXL chopped it up with the 15-year-old in early December where he talked about carving his own lane in the rap game. "I get [the white rapper comparisons] all the time," he said. "I get the MGK, Macklemore, Mac Miller, Eminem. I can see where they are coming from, but I’m starting to make my whole style and the music I’m giving my own spin to it. So it’s getting dope."

Miles inked a reported five-album deal with Warner last June after his audition tape from the television show America's Got Talent went viral. Writing raps is more than just a exercise in making songs for the primed spitta. “I use music as motivation,” he said. “The fact that nobody has done it at this age before. It’s kind of motivates me to go harder and do what I gotta do. I just want to have longevity.”
