Compton has taken on a life of its own in rap, its very name a kind of shorthand for everything from 'authenticity' to 'destitution.' Now Problem and Salva, the renowned producer, are putting yet another spin on it, with "Compton," their airy, skull-rattling collaboration. The song is being used as a piece of promotion for the pair's brief tour of California. "Compton" lets Problem's vocals breathe, heavy on low end but fierce and relentless. Salva remains one of the most inventive and innovative producers doing rap music, his drums rattling up against the end of the .WAV file.

At press time, only three dates have been announced for the tour. They're as follows:

Feb. 5: San Diego (Fluxx)
Feb. 19: San Francisco (1015 Folson)
Feb. 20: Los Angeles (Create)
