Julian Stephen is concerned. On his newest track, a reimagination of Sango's "Just Hold On For A Second" entitled "Disney Kids," the Queens rapper is uneasy with how things are going, generally. "We need more Black-owned business," he raps. Stephen also wants more doctors, more lawyers, more people claiming "queens" and children. And he ends with an urge to "rebuild our lives"--a powerful message, no doubt, and one that he delivers emphatically. But getting to that endpoint is another process entirely. Stephen is an expressive vocalist; "Soundcloud" and "sound clout" are juxtaposed on paper, but his snarl on the latter world lets you know just how different he thinks is from the average internet artist. Calling himself "Fresh Prince meets Tupac" and name-dropping leaders from Kanye West to Confucius, Stephen uses the extended freestyle as a format to introduce himself to new listeners. "I'm the second coming," he raps. "You niggas coming second."
