Before Bay Area rapper The Jacka was tragically shot and killed in East Oakland earlier this week, he joined Freeway to shoot a video for their collab "Dunya" off of their album Highway Robbery. "Dunya"is an Arabic word that means world and temporary life, which is an eery coincidence in light of recent events. The video, shot by Tha Razor, doesn't provide theatrics and forces the listener to focus on Freeway and The Jacka's bars. The duo rhyme about religion, family and their careers while cuts of events in Ferguson and wars around the globe flash in between raps.

The Jacka rose to prominence in the '90s as a member of the West Coast group Mob Figaz. As a solo artist, he dropped Jacka Of The Mob Figaz in 2001 and put out a consistent body of work over the 'oos. While he wasn't well-known nationally, The Jacka was a regional star, building a solid fan base in California and was widely considered one of the top MCs from the Bay. Recently, The Jacka teamed up with Freeway to release Highway Robbery and Write My Wrongs. He also collaborated with artists like Curren$y and Freddie Gibbs. The Jacka was 37 when he passed.

XXL sends prayers and condolences to The Jacka's family and friends.
