It sounds strange to call Trinidad Jame$ 'embattled,' but it wouldn't be wrong. Some found it easy to cast him off as a one-hit wonder, a blip in the SEO radar. Inevitable, unmemorable. There was the Def Jam deal; there was Def Jam dropping him without making so much as a dent in the commercial landscape. But the "All Gold Everything" has returned, resolute. Today (Jan. 20), Jame$ releases No One Is SaFe, a careful, brooding inversion on his familiar raucous style. The record sports guest turns from iLoveMakonen, Migos' Offset, Peewee Longway, and more. On the intro, James even hints at a change in philosophy: "I ain't thirsty for a hit, nigga, fuck your feature."
