Manolo Rose Relives ’90s Gangsta Films In “Run Ricky Run” Video

Manolo Rose is starting to make some waves. The New York MC who made a name with his track "All About The Money," later remixed by Troy Ave, has been hustling on the underground but now looks to be bubbling to the surface. Today, he releases the visual for his buzzing latest single "Run Ricky Run." This track has been circulating the Internet and club scene for a few months after receiving some positive reception.

And ode to the classic gangsta film Boyz In The Hood starring Ice Cube, the video revisits the John Singleton-directed film as well as others including Juice and Menace II Society. "Dough Boy's a motherf-ckin fool. He should have killed that jheri curl n-gga when he had a chance to," Rose raps in reference to Cube's character in BITH. Manolo's raspy raps, ranging from stream of consciousness rants to track-riding bars, fit perfectly over the hard hitting production put together by Fame School Slim.
