"I was supposed to count a million with my nigga." The hip-hop community suffered a blow over the weekend when A$AP Yams passed away tragically at the age of 26. Best known as the architect of the A$AP Mob and, in particular, A$AP Rocky's rise to stardom, Yams was one of the sharpest curators the genre had seen in recent years. His Real Nigga Tumblr was one of the fulcrums of 2010s rap, not to mention its literal and proverbial crate digging.

Long Beach's Joey Fatts was close with the New York mogul-in-training. Early this morning (Jan. 20), the rapper uploaded a new song, "Stevie World," to his Soundcloud account. He was hasty--the two-minute song is stretched out twice as long with a patch of silence. It's fitting; Yams liked his rap with menace and grime, and anything too clean was an affront to the truth. Rest in peace.
