De La Soul's comeback efforts have been well-received thus far as the group plans to drop its first album as a trio in a decade, next year. Today, we get a new track titled "The People" that features Public Enemy front man Chuck D. The foursome put all games aside tackling pressing issues of the black community with the socially aware tune. "The track's vibe was earnest and had a pressing tone to it," Trugoy told Rolling Stone. "The lyrics are commentaries of our struggles and successes, our weaknesses and strengths...the experiences, trials and tribulations we have faced as human beings, a race and individuals."
