Raekwon “When I See You”

Raekwon’s latest Throwback Thursday cut isn’t that much of a throwback. A day after his appearance on The Daily Show with his Wu-Tan brethren, The Chef decided to drop a freestyle over Fantasia Barrino’s “When I See You” from 2006.

He jumps forward a couple of decades in his sampling choice, but “When I See You” does fit in with his previous seven entries in how it makes a rugged OG sound nice. There’s no street narratives this time around though; Raekwon is focused on wooing his queen.

Expect more sonic luxury on F.I.L.A. (Fly International Luxurious Art), which hits stores on Sept. 16.
