Hopsin Mocks Kanye West And Kendrick Lamar In “Hop Is Back” Video
Don't make Hopsin angry. That seems to be the message of the video for "Hop Is Back," the first single from his upcoming Knock Madness album. The clip starts with a kinder, gentler Hopsin quietly watering his lawn in a sweater-vest and glasses before a group of obnoxious fans goad him into a violent, gristly confrontation. The track itself is a thumping West Coast banger that finds Hop taking aim at two of rap's most celebrated figures: Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar.
While mocking one of Kanye's recent run-in's with the paparazzi, Hopsin even takes shots at his most recent album. "I was ecstatic to buy Yeezus," he raps. "But I burned it first, heard it, then snapped it in five pieces."
Later in the video, a Kendrick-lookalike appears wearing a crown and holding a bar. The line in particular is aimed at the TDE member: "Most importantly, hip-hop isn't dead no more you see/Cause Kendrick took the bar and raised it up higher for MC's/Unfortunately the little nigga is like 4 foot 3/Guy's a fucking midget, his high is still really short to me."
While the record doesn't drop until November 26, you can watch the video above or grab the track on iTunes.
