The family of The Notorious B.I.G., born Christopher Wallace, has filed a new lawsuit against the City of Los Angeles and two rogue police officers. According to the Los Angeles Times, the suit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday (April 16) names former officers Raphael Perez and Nino Durden as co-conspirators in the rapper’s 1997 murder. The suit alleges that Perez was a member of a street gang and also worked with Suge Knight’s Death Row Records at the time of the murder. It claims that Perez “has made specific statements that he, together with David Mack, conspired to murder and participated in the murder of Christopher Wallace.” Both Perez and Durden, who were partners at the time of the shooting, were arrested as part of the Rampart police corruption scandal in the late 1990’s. Mack—who is currently serving a sentence for armed robbery—was named in the family’s previous suit, but his name was later removed. The new lawsuit estimates financial losses resulting from Biggie’s death could be as much as $500 million.

some cops are just criminalz who are rehabilitated in the P.D’z to check whether they will change by doing the opposite of what they were doing but end up doing the same thing they were doing, Some people never change.

XXLmag.com | Hip-Hop On A Higher Level | » Witness in Notorious BIG Lawsuit Changes Story, Implicates Wallace Family Attorney in Scam says:
[...] In a bombshell development in the ongoing story of the murder of the Notorious BIG, an incarcerated witness has recanted his previous testimony and implicated the attorney representing the slain rapper’s family in his lie. According to a report by the LA Times, inmate Waymond Anderson, a crucial witness in the case, now says that he lied about former cops David Mack and Rafael Perez’s supposed involvement in Biggie’s 1997 murder. Mack and Perez are both currently incarcerated on unrelated charges. In an August 20 deposition, Anderson changed his story and said that he had been approached in 2001 by fellow inmate Kenneth Boagni who asked him to participate in the lie in exchange for payment from Wallace family attorney Perry R. Sanders. Anderson claims that Sanders personally offered him money during a phone conversation and that Voletta Wallace herself made and offer of $150,000 in a message sent through another inmate. Sanders flatly denied the allegations and noted that he was not retained by the Wallace family until after Boagni had left prison where he and Anderson were incarcerated. The attorney is now accusing LA Times writer Chuck Philips of influencing Anderson to change his story. Earlier this year, the Philips wrote an article for the Times that challenged Anderson’s conviction for murder and arson. Philips and Times editor James O’Shea called Sanders claims “idiotic” and “utterly groundless.” var staf_confirmtext = ‘Mail sent’ #stafBlock { position: absolute; visibility:hidden; width: 180px;text-align:left; } #stafForm { background-color: #b3b89a; border: 2px solid #000; padding: 10px; margin:0; } #stafForm h2 {font-size:14px; margin-bottom:4; } #stafForm .input_text { width: 150px;margin-bottom: 4px;} #stafForm .input_submit {margin-bottom: 4px;} #stafForm label { width: 90px;display:block;} #stafClose { float: right; margin-right: 5px; } x [...]
