Eric “Eazy-E” Wright passed away 12 years ago after succumbing to the AIDS virus. His legacy and influence, however, is still felt today. As one of the founding members of N.W.A, Eazy was one of the pioneers of gangsta rap. Through his work with N.W.A and his solo material, Eazy introduced the entire world to struggles minorities in Los Angeles faced everyday. His blueprint is still utilized by almost every gangsta rap artist today. XXLMag.com pays tribute to a hip-hop legend on the 12th anniversary of his death by sharing some of Eazy’s finest videos and songs from his career.

First Off, everyone knows Eazy’s flow was average but it wasn’t about his flow. It was about what Eazy had to say. All these gay ass cupcake rappers today can’t rap and rap about pop lock and drop it. He rapped about how it went down on the west coast. Besides NWA birthed everybody after them in some way shape or form. from snoop, to, jay-z, to biggie, to nas, to jadakiss, to game and so on. Nobody rapped gangsta before they came out. before NWA came out it was “1,2… and you don’t stop” not sayin that wasn’t tight but all gangsta rap came from NWA… period R.I.P. Eazy-E

I clearly said “NWA birthed everybody AFTER THEM” nothing personal i just had to clear that up I just don’t like when people forget about the monumental impact of NWA that’s all
