Why is everybody thinking he must have given somebody up in order to get out of jail early? The reason he’s out of jail is because money talks and bull**** walks. It’s the same reason R. Kelly didn’t get convicted and MJ didn’t serve anytime. Record Labels will keep you out of jail or extensive sentences as long as you can make them dollars instead of pennies. Many other artist don’t make these deals because they are not marketable enough to warrant slipping some cash to ppl in the justice system. Long as you are an asset you need not worry as long as your crime isn’t something that the buying public despises [Rape, Domestic Abuse, Child Molestation, Murder...] and believes you did. It’s like Chris Brown, his career was virtually gone the moment the pictures of Rihanna hit the airwaves. Even 2pac didn’t get out of jail until Suge fronted that money to get him released early. Money makes the world go round and long as you are of value someone is going to look out for you as long as they think they can make a fortune in the process. It is better to spend 5 mil to grease some palms in order to make 10x to 20x that in returns. It just good business. The rules of society don’t apply to the rules of business. Keep that in mind next time you try to keep it real.

First off I’m not in anyway saying that T.I. didn’t snitch in order to get this deal. But it just might be likely that TI simply had the money and legal team to get him out of serious time. First off prior to paper trail, TI was a platnium selling artist with top charting songs. Dude was big in the industry. So I’m sure that the music execs would have done their best to ensure TI doesn’t suffer any serious jail time so he can continue to produce successful albums. You think Bossie would’ve gotten a deal like that. People seem to forget that Snoop was convicted with a murder charge and got off that. But nobody is calling him a snitch while he was at the time one of the most successful selling artists.

I’m just saying that if you were head of a label and had an artist that was profitable, wouldn’t you spend money to buy justice for that artist and get that money back on the next album, or just say “fuck it” and lose out on money in the future. Seriously who could he have snitched on? And how do you know if the people he named would’ve meant shit in reducing his sentence? Some of you are missing the point. These were FED charges. The feds conviction rate is like 98%, which means you’re going to jail no matter what. A typical deal with the feds is a plea deal to shave of probably half of your sentence. T.I pleaded guilty and did community service. How does that shave 29 years off a 30 year sentence??? Nobody pays off the feds and if they could people like Martha Stewart or Mike Vick wouldn’t have went down the way they did, and we all know T.I ain’t got Martha Stewart money. Plus T.I is a prior convicted felon which means he can’t own a firearm period. T.I stands for Telling Informants.
