As for the Clipse, I personally like the album. I been riding to it since I copped it(pharrell needs to start using bass, they dont bump like they should in the wheel). Only time will tell if it’s classic. I just like it because these guys can rap thier asses off. Every song has memorable lines in it. I agree with lonzo though, they should try to branch out next time, cause by then the whole neptunes/clipse sound will be old.

On the strength of their first two singles, “Mr. Me Too” and “Wamp Wamp (What It Do)”, I wouldn’t necessarily call them “shit sandwiches” as Bol always eloquently puts it. However, I will go so far as to say that they didn’t help sell the album because the radio hardly ever played either one of those singles, and I’ve only seen the videos through YouTube. (I don’t bother with BET or MTV anymore because they play the same ol’ bullshit anyway.) It’s obvious that in today’s market, you need a serious banger to grab people’s attention, but half the time, you have to have a certain sound in order for people to like it. It’s almost like the Clipse’s first two singles are too left field for the listening audience, and I have to agree with Bol: I don’t hear any REAL singles outside of those two songs when I listen to the album.

I think HELL HATH NO FURY is getting mixed reviews from the people but not necessarily the magazines–I personally liked it for its lyrical prowess, not as much for the beats, which were better on LORD WILLIN’. I think that there a certain amount of people will agree that it was better than KINGDOM COME and will also agree that HHNF had nowhere near the amount of promotion as KC either. That’s part of the reason for the lack of sales, but when you see Jay-Z taking an 81% dip in sales from his first week, you know that there’s a bigger problem. The consumers of America are becoming disinterested in hip-hop ALBUMS and refuse to chance wasting their money on records that might not be worth crap years down the line. You gotta have a straight-up classic or thoroughly interesting and entertaining hip-hop album nowadays in order to make a serious dent in the sales department. Point blank period.

Clipse DOWNFALL IS FARELL…for years now i have said the NEPTUENS along with Just Blaze are the most overrated producers in the game…NEPTUNES are very inconsistent and the vast majority of their beats are just plain wierd…..ANd Jiggas album was almost completely ruined by the suck ass beats he got from just blaze….NEPTUNES suck…Just Blaze sucks

what you people don’t realize is that you can’t call a album a classic after hearing it 1 time, when i first heard HHNF i thought it was overrated and i thought the hooks and beats were shitty, but since then i listened to it a couple more times and i agree with xxl. HHNF is a classic its just a slow burner. & fyi nobody at jive thought this album was going to do numbers, they pushed it back to december at first

I guess the Clipse will finally see that they can’t keep their fans waiting. They signed that contract so they should have came with another album the following year. It was not like their first album went multi platinum for them to be sitting for three years. Once again, they signed the contract so they should have did two albums before they started holding out on their contract and not putting out any albums. I also think they should stop working with Pharrell so much, no one is buying the that Pharrell is a thug or drug dealer. The Clipse needs to leave Jive or hope that Jive drops them ASAP. I guess back to the stove they go to whip some of them things with the little rap money they will get from publishing and maybe a few shows.

The differece betweek Jim Jones and the Clipse is that Jim is on Koch Records and the Clipse is on Jive Records. I guess he was one of the 78,000 who purchased the album.

Clipse hang with Pharrell. That Aint gangsta. Mr. Me Too was ayte but not a smash single. Their 2nd single shouldnt have been released coz its garbage. As for Jay-Z, well he had a good run but its getting sad now. The man needs to sit down and properly promote Hip Hop is Dead for Nas cause his music is real hip hop.
