C-Murder, former Hot Boy Turk, Young Buck and Lil Scrappy are just a handful of Southern artists that will be participating in a “Hip-Hop Unity Conference Call” to be held later today (December 7).
“Freeway” Ricky Ross, the notorious ex-drug trafficker, who spent the last 14 years incarcerated on narcotics charges, organized the phone call, which he hopes will put hip-hop music in a more positive direction. Ross’ mythic status in the street has influenced many rap artists, and now he plans on giving back to the rap community in a more constructive fashion.
Other artists scheduled to take part in the call are Rich Boy, Mya, Blood Raw, Pastor Troy, Zaytoven and ex Crime Mob rapper Diamond.
Fans interested in listening to the Hip Hop Unity Conference Call can dial 218-862-1300 code 961590 from 6-8 p.m. EST. —Elan Mancini

Sounds like a good direction to pursue. Why not have artists from all regions participate?
“are just a handful of Southern artists that will be participating in a “Hip-Hop Unity Conference Call…” What? No Officer Rickey?

This is definitely some big shit poppin. Why the hell can’t artist from different areas and clicks get together and really make power moves for the state of hip hop. I hope some quality music and less bullshit will be part of the conversation. Definitely a respectable move by the TRUE FREEWAY RICKY ROSS!!!!!!!

Turk & C-Miller? How about they spend that time talking to the youth about the folly of their criminal activities instead of attempting to unite Hip Hop, something that needs more than a conference call can achieve.
Sounds good, but it hasn’t worked yet, & Ross ain’t no Khalid Muhammad or Louis Farrakhan.

Rick Ross can’t even use his name, he has to be referred to as “Freeway” Ricky Ross everytime, cause that Fat liar took it to create a perception that he was a drug dealer. A man should be able to create his own image, good or bad. Now he has to be forever linked with the CO.
