Young Jeezy recently appointed Florida-based DJ, Bigga Rankin, as the new vice president and head of A&R of his label, CTE Music.
Through his popular RNR mixtape series, Rankin has played an influential role on the careers of such artists as Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Plies, Yo Gotti, Rick Ross, and Lil Boosie, among many other Southern rappers.
In addition to his mixtape reputation, Rankin also hold numerous positions behind-the-scenes in the music industry. He is the VP of the Hittmenn DJs, president of Slip-N-Slide Streets and a member of the Core DJ collective.
The 2006 TJ’s DJs Hustler Award winner will be taking over for the imprint, whose current roster includes, Slick Pulla, Bloodraw, 211, JW2 and Boo, along with label head Jeezy.

CTE? What a joke. You have to actually release artist’s albums and have some success outside of the main artist to be considered a “label”. I can’t wait to get that new Slick Pulla and Blood Raw album…. Yea right

See that’s why these labels fail. Every rapper trys to sign his boys who really aint shit on the mic.
Good luck with the A&R job, but CTE needs some better talent if they wanna do anything in this business.

Even though it didn’t make any noise, Bloodraw has already had an album released from the CTE imprint. You must also take note with the 360 deals artist really don’t need to make albums for the label to profit. Their are rappers who get rich off mix-tape touring. Now-a-days the music business is more than just selling albums especially during these times.
