After pictures hit the Net yesterday (October 28) of Shyne at an undisclosed airport, rumors began running rampant that Shyne was being forced to return to Belize. MTV News has confirmed that the rapper was indeed released from the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.) and deported to his place of birth.
The Brooklyn-bred rapper has “temporarily accepted deportation” to Belize, his attorney Oscar Michelen told mtv.com. The lawyer said Shyne decided he would rather fight for his right to return to U.S. from a place of freedom as opposed to behind bars. The rapper has received help from respected Harvard professor Charles Ogletree, who will continue to assist him in his legal battle from overseas.
Shyne spent the last nine years in prison on assault, reckless endangerment and gun possession charges for his involvement in a shooting at Club New York in Manhattan. Diddy, his Bad Boy label boss at the time, who also stood trial, was later acquitted. Po was released from behind bars on October 6, but was immediately detained by I.C.E. officials.
Shyne’s estranged father, Dean Barrow, was expected to greet his son upon arrival. He is the current prime minister of Belize. —Elan Mancini

It was never mentioned to the public..but Shyne prolly already knew what the deal was…but it’s not like he could’ve been successfully fighting for citizenship in America while he was serving jail time for shooting an innocent American citizen in the face…it was better for him to serve his time quietly and then play the “I’m reformed” angle after he finished serving his time.
