Guess who’s bizzack. Madlib and MF DOOM, the underground’s favorite comic-book obsessed duo, are currently cooking up a follow-up disc to 2004’s critically-acclaimed Madvilliany and have already been confirmed to play this year’s We the People Festival in Los Angeles.
In a recent interview with The New Yorker magazine, the New York-bred rapper revealed the news that he was working on a new project with the Stones Throw producer. Both artists have been putting in a lot of work in the last year. Dropping the MF prefix, DOOM recently released Born Like This, his first solo album since 2004’s MM…Food, and along with his brother Oh No, Madlib scored a majority of Mos Def’s latest disc, The Ecstatic.
The group, known collectively as Madvillain, will hit the stage at the 4th annual We The People fest set to takeover downtown L.A. on November 21. Past performers have included EPMD, RZA, Dilated Peoples, Ill Bill and Murs, among others.
As of press time there is no release date for the new Madvillany album. Stay tuned to XXLMag.com as more information becomes available. -Elan Mancini

I think there was a typo…
“critically-acclaimed Madvilliany” should be “Hip-Hop Classic- Madvillainy”
