Grand Finale:
This is it like Kenny Loggins. Enjoy y’all weekend. Any more cracks about my better half and I’m coming to you geeks’ houses and smash your HP computers over y’all heads. And then I’m gonna rip y’all tonsils out. Real talk: Govern yourselves accordingly.

Jay on Memorizing Rhymes:
“I had backlog and shit. [Laughs] Yeah, now fuck it. I would put ideas in my Blackberry. Like I try to put quotes and shit, I had a shit called ‘quotes’ and I’d just try to put quotes or whatever…I just had so much, you know, cause like for me, my albums is my diary. It gave me a chance to download every year. It was like my year in review. And I missed those for a couple years.”

Jay on Working with Coldplay’s Chris Martin
“Yeah, it’s the last song on the album. It’s called ‘Beach Chair.’ And it’s like one of my favorite songs. He [Chris] just sent these chords, I mean these shits is so crazy. I’m a have Dre do the drums over. But the subject matter of the song is almost I guess it’s almost talking to your unborn kid. One of the lines is like, ‘I got demons in past/So I got daughters on the way/If the prophecies correct/Then the child shall have to pay/For the sins of the father/So I barter my tomorrows/Against my yesterdays/And hopefully she’ll be ok/And when I’m no longer here/To shade her face from the gray/I give her my share of Carol’s Daughter/And a new beach chair.’ All the joints end with something like that.”

Jay on Problems with DMX at Def Jam
“DMX is a big guy, so…We came up together. We have a rich history. I think other things contributed to that also. I did what I had to do. I went in—got him paid for the work he did and gave him his work back. Everything. No one’s doing that. No one’s paying for something and then giving it away, not those numbers. So, I did the right thing and I can sleep good at night. No matter what he goes around and says, it’s whatever. I see that as something that he has to overcome.”

Jay on Live Show Prowess
“I tour between albums. That’s 18,000 people last night, there may be 50,000 tomorrow. Every word. Fuckin’ Scotland. That’s different type of shit. I enjoy it. It’s a rush. Then when you get to a level of doing shows, the other rush is trying to beat the other show. You really just start trying to make epic joint after epic joint after epic joint. Once you hit arenas, it ain’t the same. You can’t play it like you play clubs. You try to walk into an arena with a bulletproof vest on with the same show you did at club Speed, it don’t work. Now you’re dealing with 16,000 people. Even at 5,000 it’s gonna sound light. So, you gotta have big records. A following, too.

“When you play ‘PSA,’ there’s no video for that. There’s no video for ‘You Don’t Know’ or ‘Heart of the City.’ These are some of the biggest records in the concert and that comes with the following and preparation. It costs a lot to make that show look effortless. You get to a point where, if you getting a $100,000, you put $10,000 into a show. Whatever you got to do to make the show look great. Going on tour, what’s the sense? In order to put on a good show you gotta spend. You get the fuckin’ LCD screens that are so bright and look like water. You gotta get the best sound and light guys. You gotta treat it like the rock guys treat it. It’s part of your craft. You gotta treat it like the studio, making the album. I got into the mindset that every aspect of my show has got to be the best. You gotta stay on par with your peers in the game. You don’t wanna go to a show and they’re just blowing you off the stage. That ain’t good for your career either. It’s all part of being a performer.”

Jay on Career Ups and Downs
“You gotta be fluid, man. Everything will work. I’m fearless. I’ll try anything. I’ll make a fuckin’ song with Annie. I’m not afraid to fail. I’ll make a record off of a Tupac record, where everybody knows we weren’t the best of friends. You know? And if it doesn’t work, then I’ll fix it. I’m not delusional. I knew the Puffy Tour wasn’t working and I knew I gotta get off that. I knew putting out ‘Sunshine’ wasn’t working so it’s time to put out Streets Is Watching. It’s time to stick with what I do. You gotta figure, when I came off Reasonable Doubt, I believed I had made the best album I could ever make. And it didn’t sell the way things were selling at that time and I was like, Fuck! I’m just coming into the business. I’m supposed to be like, ‘Fuck it, I’ma stay down.’ But I’m like, ‘I gave these niggas what they want…’ Now I’m going back and I’ll never change. I know how to make records, I know how to make songs, but I’m gonna do what I want to do. I’m never following anyone else and I’m never not doing something that I wanna do because of what people might say. You gotta be fearless in that aspect. That’s the only way.

“Gotta be fluid. I got that from Bruce Lee. It’s like water. Water is fluid. You pour it in a cup it takes the shape of the cup, you pour it in a teapot it takes the shape of the teapot. You gotta be able to change.”

Jay on Blueprint 2, baby
“That wasn’t my fault. I ain’t taking that one. I didn’t want to make a double album. I was making so much music, the guys around me were like, ‘Yo, make a double album.’ And that’s me being diplomatic about it. It’s not a dictatorship around me and my friends. If everybody is saying it, then let’s do it. I’ll roll with that. That was the case. If you do the backstory with Guru and Hip-Hop, my whole trustee…But at the same time, Hip-Hop gave me the title for ‘Big Pimpin’.’ Of course, it sold 4 million albums so I guess…Everyone would love to fail like that. It failed to me because I want the hearts.”

Jay on Reuniting with R. Kelly
“It’s something that the people wanted. And in a way, to be perfectly honest, he went through that shit, and I backed away from it, like, ‘Yo, this is music. You got a real situation, handle it.’ I don’t know how he took it, but to me it’s serious. That’s like life altering, legacy—everything. You could get locked up. ‘You gotta take care of that. Fuck this album. Don’t shoot no videos, we ain’t going on tour,’ that’s what I said. ‘You gotta take care of that, man.’

“I think the fallout was people around him. I wouldn’t be the same person if I didn’t have a good team of people around me. If someone is always telling you that everything is okay, you wouldn’t have your feet on the ground anymore. You start losing a sense of reality. When you get a real person around you, telling you real shit, you take it a different way. My intentions was to have the best tour ever. I wanna have the best show. I’m not gonna sabotage R. Kelly with no lights. Why go out with him? I don’t need to stand on nobody’s shoulders. I’m a made man. I made myself. I don’t have to stand on R. Kelly’s shoulder to make myself look better. I was who I was before I got to you. I wasn’t a new nigga. So, obviously I respect what you do and you’re great at what you do and I’m great at what I do too.

“I just felt that if you make that accusation that I’m sabotaging your lights, that must mean that I’m trying to hurt your career to make me look good. I don’t wanna do that, I’m a competitor. People gotta realize that too. I don’t wanna beat somebody when they’re hurt or injured. I want everybody at their full strength. It wasn’t like that with us. It wasn’t like I was on before and then he went on. There was a friendly competition between us, always. If five people go out, you gonna want the best show or you’re not doing your job. If I’m co-headling the tour I’m trying to wipe you off the stage and I want you to fight back. I wanna see some ill shit. I wanna be like,’ Oh shit did you see that? It was crazy!’ That’s the best tour to me. But it wasn’t like that with us.”

Jay on Changing from His Quick-Tongued Rhyme Style
“It came from being on the streets, living. In the beginning, I was a kid. I didn’t have any real experience to base my story off but technical shit. I was under a guy who was technically good. My shit was to technically be the best. Do couplets that niggas couldn’t do and come up with concepts that were different. Then I lived life. When I started living life, it became more about the shit I was doing.

“Although I still maintained the flow and technique on every song, that was apart of me, it wasn’t the majority. Instead of being 90% of the formula, it became 20%. The style and how I said it played less of a role and what I was saying became the leader and forerunner.

“It was ahead of its time, but not really. When Das Efx did it, I knew it was hope. They had the shit—it was tracks. They used the right tracks. I remember hearing it and thinking it was great. The last one of it’s kind was ‘Can I Get Open.’ I had the Karl Kani shit on. If you looked at my clothes you could see I was out of there. ‘Oh, this nigga’s on the street now, it’s over.’ I was gone.”

Jay on Joe Budden
“I don’t have Joe Budden’s album in my hand. I try to be diplomatic about it. You’re trying to make the best product. I’m an artist, I understand. I don’t have Joe Budden’s album. It doesn’t make sense, why would I not put it out if it’s ready?”

Jay on His Reference to Memphis Bleek on Kanye’s Album
“That’s my fuckin’ kid, you know…That’s my little brother. How can you take it…He knows where I’m coming from, he’s my little brother. I said he doesn’t have to but he’s going to for him. Of course, for him, he’s going to keep going. That’s saying I love you. He’s not trying to chill.”

Jay on Being the Throwback Killer
“It started looking like a uniform. It started feeling racist. [NBA Commissioner] David Stern talks to me about that every time I see him. He tells the story, ‘You know this fuckin’ guy right here? He ruined my fuckin’ jersey business.’ Every single time.

Look for the full story in the December 2006 issue, on stands now!

Mr. Nucca says:

That cam shit was garbage!!! That shit was for the dummies. If you’re a real hip-hop fan you knew where those lines came from. Anyone that was shocked by that shit doesn’t know their history and need to go to some research. It wasn’t “jackin” it was paying homage to the greats of hip-hop.

Bad Boy & The (war)LOX?!?! Niggas cry about wearing shinny suits and shit and then go jump on tracks with JLO and Paris Hilton, c’mon dude. Just be real and say that you want to roll with your own crew and fuck puff, but don’t go on radio and cry because you have a shitty contract.

95 % percent of dudes careers don’t last more then 4yrs, to stay relevant in hip-hop is damn near impossible. This music shit works in cycles like sports, what goes up must come down, but respect must be shown to consistency and integrity.

DOCTORS ADVOCATE NOV 14 says:

Ok, ok, ok…so I heard Jay-Z’s single, “Show Me What You Got,” off his new album Kingdom Come late last week and I got to be honest, I expected more. I listened to it again and again to see if the track would grow on me. It didn’t. I didn’t get that same feeling I got when I heard the leak of, “What More Can I Say” off 2003’s Black Album. That record was emphatic, especially with lines like, “Excluding nobody / Look what I embody / The soul of a hustler / I really ran the streets.” No one could argue with it. But this single, “Show Me What You Got,” doesn’t move me. First of all, it sounds like Hov is almost freestyling on it. Even though the Just Blaze beat is pretty tight, it’s lazy compared to the PSA record he had on the Black Album. Listen, I know I’m going to get all kinds of emails from Hov fans complaining to me and telling me I don’t know what I’m talking about, but I raise the bar real high for anything Jay-Z puts out. I heard the title track, “Kingdom Come,” and I’m more pleased with that. By no means am I suggesting Hov doesn’t have it any more because that would be ludicrous. At the same time, though, for Flex and Mr. Cee (who I frequently refer to as my favorite DJ in the world) to blast this joint for 10 minutes straight on Hot 97 is unwarranted. Yes, Hov is back and it’s a huge deal, but that song is not his best work. I know for a fact the album is going to bring more heat, so I hope Hov is just playing with us at this time. Yea, that’s it. …

yeah,i have like 3 different versions of PSA and they were all tight.anyway its good that the album is not yet finished because of the bootleggers.I just dont understand why labels give some people albums before they come out just so reviews can be done before it hits the stores, thats what listening sessions are for.btw i love the song kingdom come so much!just cant get enough it.

I honestly think the dude is scared to do a track with Nas on his on album for fear of being made to look inferior. That’s why there’s no guest appearances.

In my opinion, Beanie stole the show on every song he was on on the Dynasty album. If you don’t agree - tell me is it a coincidence that Beans basically never appeared on another Jay-Z album after that?

I could be wrong though. I’m not the biggest Jay-Z fan though so somebody correct me if I’m wrong. How many more guest appearances did Beanie Sigel make on a Jay-Z album after Dynasty?

I knew they were putting Jay on the cover. Now that Hov back we’ll get a break from all the interscope covers, like this year, only three. Jay comming back. It’s sad NY is in such a bad state that he’s got to risk ruining his legacy to make you all relevant. Like Jay said on the Black album, the rap game isn’t anything without me. This year only one rap album has gone platinum, TI. All NY has had since Jay left was 50. Maybe between the two of them they can bring you back. Both are multiplatinum selling artists and both have two Hip Hop legends under them (Nas Def Jam/Sony AND LL Cool J G-unit/ Def Jam). Jay back and he taking the industry back over. November 21 he’s going to be back on top and there’s going to be a few rappers taken down too (DipSet, Game, and Snoop)

Yo son, I just seen Jay-Z in Durban, South Africa! The best concert I’ve ever been to. The love he got kind of threw him off. He didn’t expect the audience to recite his lyrics word for word like that. Bleek was on stage with him the whole time - that fuckin’ bracelet! - and the crowd was shoutin’ him out.

Ain’t nobody fucking with the LOX???? On what level?? As a group?? (Clipse) As a movement?? (Dipset) I know it ain’t record sales. C’mon nigga be serious, i don’t even have a problem with kiss and them other niggas but you have to face the facts.
You missed the whole point, I wasn’t comin at you, that shit was for the dumb niggas that jump on here talking about real hip-hop and couldn’t name the founders of def jam. You gotta respect hov for the way he worked the system, a system that swallows most of these rap niggas up. He is one of the few artists that can make a commercial record and still make a song for the streets, it’s about diversity and versatility, but still knowing your lane. I used the lox because that was an example that people could recognize. Half these niggas ain’t never heard of the fu-shickens or any other rapper before 1994, they just don’t know or care about that shit. I’m one of the few ppl that actually pays attention when ppl talk, when jay-z “retired” he always said he just wanted to take a break after pushin’ out album after album for all those years. But he still milked that retirement shit because he’s a great showman. Niggas have had that ether conversation too many fuckin times on these posts so I’m not even gonna get into that again. All I’m saying is you have to respect his gangsta and the way he worked the system, ain’t no nigga ever do it like that.

Crazy J says:

You know what. I finally realized what’s killing hip-hop. It isn’t the south or snap music. It’s the internet. It’s the only place where a bunch of angry niggas with no lives can get together and critique shit. The only place where guys like you can get together and bitch about who’s a whack rapper when none of you niggas have the talent to be in their position. All you do is talk a lot of shit and do nothing about it. You try to bully people into buying your perspective of rap. It’s retarded. When I was a kid, I would go out and pick up and album after saving up enough money and take it home and listen to it. If I liked it, I liked it, if I didn’t I just put it in my cd folder and went back to business. If someone asked me about it, I’d say it wasn’t that great. I wouldn’t blow up and try to sound like I knew what I was talking about. I don’t know what it takes to make a hit album and neither to most of you. If you did, you’d be out grinding instead of bitching on an online website for a magazine. Face it, you’re killing hip-hop with this retarded shit. It needs to stop.

PS: Don’t ever try to knock another man’s dreams. You niggas wish you were in his shoes. The same goes for any other rapper out there doing his thing. You don’t have to like the nigga, but you can respect the fact that he’s trying. Hell, most of these niggas are nothing like they appear to be in videos. Don’t mix fantasy with reality. Grow up, go outside, and live your lives. If you love music then go love music. If you hate where hip-hop is, then go listen to some old joints and reflect. But if you have nothing better to do than sit and bitch about other niggas work, then you need to just shut the fuck up because half of you will never make an album and none of you will ever be a figure in rap. No hate, but it’s true. I can say that because even years from now, most of you will still be online, bitching about 50’s sixth album or Jay coming out of retirement again to promote his new album “I Promise This Is The Last Album: Part 2″.

Get a life. Get a job. Get some ass. But for the love of God, get the fuck off of this site and do something.

I feel u kid but like i said nobody fuckin wit D-Block. Clipse, dem my dudes. im from VA, but lyrically, they cant fuck wit da LOX. Dip Set, they so fuckin inconsistent its pathetic. I mean u hear some hot shit from them and the next shit u hear is like “where the fuck is that shit coming from” it aint a group in da game dats got mo respect in the streets or industry as the LOX. its these bullshittin as labels out here thats fuckin wit niggas money and shit. album sales, trends and all dat shit i could care less about cuz my nigga AZ aint sold nowhere near as many albums as he should have, but he in the top 5 right now as far as niggas still in the game. it aint too many niggas out hear that can fuck wit’em. ino hip-hop is more than just bobbing yo head being able to play the shit in the club. the internet aint killed hip-hop neither. its tha youngstas out here. i aint talking about the group from back in the day neither. they buying all this water-down shit so thats wat the labels want. radio killing dis shit too. u can be hot cuz yo shit all over the airwaves and on tv because its the demand of what the people want but u can still be garbage. niggas nowadays need that special flavor whateva it may be cuz while they talking bout them being a rapper, they really cant rap. hot beats have just destroyed raw lyricism to tha fullest. my man Big Daddy Kane said that shit back in 01. yea dats when my nigga KISS said “YALL USE BEATS FOR HELP, WE HELP THE BEATS”
Hov my nigga. I aint neva had any problems wit da nigga other than him making lil comparisons between him and B.I.G. i just said it was nothing for him to blow up the way he did because when BIGGIE died it wont a nigga in the game with his caliber who controlled his on destiny the way Hov had it

Jay Z is accomplished and rich and I aint mad at him. I won’t buy his album because I don’t think he’s that great of a rapper–just a great businessman. If you pay stations to play your shit a hundred times a day and have good marketing then you should have some success. That’s a form of brainwashing. I do however, support what he represents which in my opinion is a black man with a respectable amount of intelligence, pride, and discipline. I liked the way he shitted on Frederic Rouzaud and his Cristal piss-punch: Give our race some respect or sell that shit to your own kind.

Not to mention the executives he got to deal with. But trust! When that single is out of the way he’s gonna bring fire and brimstone on these cats. Ether did hurt my soul. But then I’d throw stillmatic out of my disc player, gently insert my Blueprint and turn up the volume for Takeover. Jay-Z gave Nas the spark to re-invent himself. Jay also brought it to Nas without a flaw and murdered Mobb Deep. And I do think every Jay-Z is hot, when you got wordplay, flow, and skills like that, well…. hell…. You got it like that.

Myles R. Walker says:

Me & My Tourette’s: Motivated By GOD

My name is Myles R. Walker, and I am a 25 year old African American Man Who has Tourette Syndrome. I presently live in the projects (public housing), and I have just written my first book entitled “Me & My Tourette’s: Motivated By God” which was published in April 2006 by iuniverse.com. My book is also available at Barnes and Noble online and offline as well as at 25,000 other book retailers worldwide.

You can also go to my website which is http://www.myleswalker.com for a little bit of more information about me as well.

I wrote Me & Tourette’s: Motivated By GOD, because I have Tourette Syndrome and have had it for approximately 18+ years. To shed new light which most people do not know about Tourette Syndrome but always associate it with swearing (which I do not do on a regular basis) or as others may think. My tics are vocal and sometimes sounds like a continuous hiccups. They can be loud and are uncontrollable.

I also wrote Me & My Tourette’s: Motivated By GOD, because people who have Tourette Syndrome are usually discriminated against from people, associates who you may meet on a day to day basis, family, churches, school, in the workplace, including having a place to live, etc.

We are people with feelings too, and we are normal just like anyone else and can do anything just like anyone else. The difference between me and you is that people with Tourette Syndrome have involuntary vocal tics as well as involuntary movements of different parts of the body.

We want to be a family, we want to have friends, we want to go to church, we want to go to school, we want to go to work and we also want a decent place and life to live as well! We also want to be accepted as a decent and kind human being!

There are people that have Tourette Syndrome, but are not aware that they may have it. Or, they might know of someone that does have it. As well as in the African American Community, other minorities and non-minority groups who do not know anything about Tourette Syndrome.

There is a non-profit organization for Tourette Syndrome as well as doctors and support groups for people with Tourette’s.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me.
Or, you can call me at 1-865-523-9992 or 1-865-771-7636

Thank You.

2.pac (emotion, skills, style, vocab)
3.biggie (skills, style, versitle)
4.nas (emotion, skills, vocab)
5.jay z (skills, vocab, style)

tupac is good but i dont think he is better than eminem cus eminem is just sick, he can rap any way and style, freestyle, slow, fast, he write good hooks, good verses and altho tup[ac is good lyrically he isnt very good at writing hooks u must admit.

What a fuckin’ loser this cat is. I ain’t never really dug 2 many of his songs and have always thought of him as way over rated as an MC. If Biggie doesn’t die, no one in New York would have ever cared about this faggot, big nose, big lip, bitch. For the sake of hip hop, stay retired kid.

It goes in that order so don’t get it twisted. Jay z is just keeping the ball of hip hop rolling along so i don’t knock what he do but the bottom line is that hip hop is dead right now and we will see what happens after this year is over or after Nas drops his album.

AJTHROWBACK says:

I have to admit that I understand where Jay is coming from with the whole going past the boundaries theory. Let’s be real, if he was still talking about the same exact things that he was rapping about on REASONABLE DOUBT, could he even make any kind of claim that he’s a legend?? I know we all want Hov to get back to being gutter or a little more street, but let’s be real: he’s the President of Def Jam now. It’s like Eddie Griffin once said in a stand-up: money does change people…it changes your address, the kind of car you drive, all of that! He’s not gonna be spittin’ the same exact way that he did in ‘96 or even ‘01 when he put out BLUEPRINT because his subject matter is different.

If he did, then I don’t think that we could truly call him an “artist” because true “artists” eventually branch out and try different things, even if we don’t always like what they’re trying out. Every last one of the most respected rappers, singers or whoever of all time have all come either full circle with their styles or just escalated to heights that we don’t understand as mere listeners. Jimi Hendrix started off doing the blues down in the “Chitlin Circuit”, but because he wanted to expand his sound based off what he heard in his head, he ended being one of the most prominent ROCK artists ever. Luther Vandross went from singin’ back up during the disco era to being a reknowned soul singer and one to become one of the most respected voices in history, pop and R&B, working with everyone and anyone. Shoot, if we even go back to rap and name people like Common and Nas, they both started off one way, tried something different and might not have received the results they were looking for, and got back to the essence of just making good, relevant music. The real hip-hop heads appreciate what they do, but there are a lot of people who don’t like what they did by returning to the essence because people like Common and Nas spit things that go over a lot of people’s heads.

Wrapping it up, Jay is advancing in the best way that he knows how, and that’s trying not to duplicate what he did before. There might be some people that will disagree, but Hov’s albums are like his quote from the very song that has garnered him so much criticism, “Show Me What You Got”: “Hov, no two alike like a snowflake”. From each joint to the next, they don’t sound like the last one. Whether we all like his new direction or not, he’s doing what he feels is relevant to him and his music. I don’t think that he’s lyrically lost a step necessarily, but, like a lot of his fellow rappers that have been in the game for a hot minute, he’s stepping over a lot of people’s heads with how he approaches his work.

I hope jay shuts niggas up with his interview. Sounds like XXL got a gem with this one. Man, everyone changes. Time brings change and change brings time is how the cliche goes. Over time he has changed. Why the hell would a multimillionaire still be n the hood? That’s stupid and some of the dumbest shit I ever heard in my life. That’s niggas problem, niggas wanna stand still instead of evolving. Niggas settle for shit like they can’t move forward any further. That’s the real problem in the hood and in rap/hip-hop. Try new stuff. To hell with what the so called real niggas think. I thought niggas rapped 2 get out the hood, so why niggas get mad when someone does get out.

Jay is one of the only rappers who is an icon in corporate america. I bet your favorite rapper envys that shit unless they ignorant or respect the hustle. He shows people especially kids that u can truly exceed your dreams if u shoot 4 the stars and keep pushin towards it then your time will come.

I think he realized that Dame was gonna hold him from some of his dreams with his ignorance that he was disguising as an articulate shrewd businessman. If he was such a great businessman, why have none of his ventures flourished since the break-up. Jay has yruly exceeded any ventures they had together and done more than they ever would 2gether. To me, it just seems that jay is on some more mature shit and if he doesn’t see the potential of further growth, then he’s through bullshitting with u. That’s why the roc isn’t 2gether anymore, jay wanted to try some other shit that involved evolution and dame and everyone who left wasn’t feeling that so they went and did there own thing, but didn’t sign with dame cause they knew he was a dick.

Just look at who they cosign:

Dame: Graph, camron, jim jones, juelz santana,

Jay-Z: lupe, mike shinoda, kanye west, pharrell, and lil wayne

See the difference? Typical lyrics, flows, and cockiness compared to diverse, eccentric artists that sound like no one else, different flows, lyrics, swagger, and do it from the heart and don’t care what people think.

I think its obvious now why rocafella broke up.

Any comments?

No think crazy about mike shinoda, remember hip-hop/rap is a unversl language

I’m out

The bitter breakup with his former Roc-A-Fella Records partner, Damon Dash, was a casualty of Jay-Z’s move to greener pastures. Def Jam, Jay says, offered him $20 million to dump Dash two years before the 2004 split. He rejected it.

So what eventually changed his mind and made him leave Dash?

“You know, I couldn’t live,” he said. “It wasn’t, it wasn’t what it once was, in my eyes. You know, maybe I contributed to it. We all contributed. … Maybe being 34, as opposed to being 26, contributed to it. It was deteriorating. It wasn’t the same thing.”

anyway if was jay,i would have taken the 20 mil and cut off that dummy bitch off.thats the same nigga who said he’d roll with cam because he knew cam from harlem while jay was the one putting food on that niggas table.that the same nigga who apperas on some song with jimmy dissing jay.

Did someone say jay Z is on the same level as Pac…lol lolololololol oh shit im crying here lol. Here’s the list bitch:

1.eminem (emotion, skills, style, vocab, versitle)
2.pac (emotion, skills, style, vocab)
3.biggie (skills, style, versitle)
4.nas (emotion, skills, vocab)
5.jay z (skills, vocab, style)

tupac is good but i dont think he is better than eminem cus eminem is just sick, he can rap any way and style, freestyle, slow, fast, he write good hooks, good verses and altho tup[ac is good lyrically he isnt very good at writing hooks u must admit.

If B.I.G. and Tupac can make albums from the grave, did anyone really expect Hov to stay retired? I only ask Jay Z two things: First, that he not refer to himself as “Young” on the new album. Brother is at least 37. Second, that he and Beyonce not do another song together. The more songs they do together, the less I believe them as a couple.

Tupac was the greatest ever, Jay-Z does not come close to Tupac in any way, shape or form. Jay-Z is like the kid in class who everyone thinks is smart but really just stayed back a year or two. Jay-Z was making songs when Tupac and Biggie were alive and nobody cared. Tupac made classic album after classic album after classic album that were masterpieces from first to last track. Jay-Z made one classic album and a bunch of mediocre albums that have a few hot songs and a bunch of worthless filler. That one line in “Intro/Bomb First (My Second Reply)” would have been better then Jay-Z’s whole diss, then Tupac would respond with another diss and destroy Jay-Z’s entire career. Don’t even buy Jay-Z’s new album, buy 2Pac’s new album, Pac’s Life, which is coming out the same day. 2Pac’s 13 tracks will be better then Jay-Z’s whole album.

If Tupac was here Jay-Z would be working in McDonalds saying “Damn I wish I was never was on that track with Biggie”.

Niggas hate what they do not understand, and some of these remarks made by these people are a perfect example. Read a dictionary you bastards. He retired cuz he was waitin’ for somebody to follow the Blueprint, but these idiots still don’t know what to do wit’ the game. I’m from the South, and I’m sick of hearing these niggas down here rappin’ about going to the strip clubs payin’ their royalties and album profits for lap-dances. And the only thing these niggas on the West Coast talk about is gang-bangin’ who da fuck claims gangs any more? I got nothing but love for Snoop, but he damn near 40, talkin’ bout crippin’ on his album, but on t.v. he talkin’ bout how he loves the kids. Somebody tell this nigga to make his mind up. Pac was fake thug he was balerina, and in highschool he was actor and mamaslittle boy. When he started dealing drogs he stoped after to weeks cos he didnt know how to do it. When he got to death row he had to start acting bit gangsta just to sell albums. On the other hand big and jay was started to sell drogs before their highschool and they was real. And yea how do you know how would pac or biggie be if they didnt die. Would they make comercial tracks. The answer is yes and even more then jay. PEACE

MK says:

One thing I’ve noticed is that since Jay-Z retired, hip-hop has being going downhill, esp NY hip-hop.

I don’t really like “Show Me What You Got” (way too pop) and there’s no way this new album will be as good as Reasonable Doubt or Blueprint. But a dude who created those 2 classics is capable of making some very good raps.

P.S: For every1 saying 2Pac would have killed Jay-Z’s career, Reasonable Doubt is better than any album 2Pac put out. Dead Presidents II is better than California Love and the vast majority of Pac’s songs (lyrically and musically). You can argue 2Pac’s better than Jay but not by a huge margin.

These cats definately are M.C.’s that set the standard for true lyricism. As for Jigga, I hope I could here a Dilla beat on this joint. Hip hop need that.

The whole Jay retiring thing wasn’t a publicity stunt, there’s some shit ya’ll need to get straight. Jay retired because Dame wouldn’t give him his original recordings off the Reasonable Doubt album. Jay knew the only way to get them shits back was to become President at Def Jam. Def Jam said you can’t be an artist and President so Jay retired to get what was rightfully his knah mean? Dame didn’t wanna give him his shit.. so why do you think they have beef now? Def Jam wouldn’t offer Jay a shorter contract than 3 years… that’s why 3 years after Jay’s retirement he’s back, think about it. It all makes sense.

wow Now everyone knows that jay-z is the greatest ever, Im looking at these dumb comments and seeing people sayin that nas killed jay and eminem, yall talkin bout one verse or a diss song,ok…em got him on a song, and nas came back with ether after jay dugg in his ass the first time with takever, dickheads,of course someone with nas’s talent could come back stornger after he hears the first diss song..But who really won the battle???Lets see whos the most successful rapper out of these 3are. excuse me but jay has 10 albums, nas got half of those an half of his are corny(how bout that)on top of that, he was out be4 hov an ended up bein signed by jay…on eminem, well he hot too, however he aint half as good as jay,he aint got as many albums out, jay drop his yeat after year, and all are hot, and is still gettin better,NO ONE as far as music, can be compared to him unless it Puffy or Russell..Jay is the muthafukin goat, LL shoulda been president b4 him but he not is he? Jay is worth 300mill. thats all i gota say, and hes gettin more..he makes records for fun and kill anyone that disses him…Back to eminem, lets listen to the track on “eminem show” with nate dog,(second to the last track)”I gota list, heres the order of my list that its in,it goes,1)reggie,jay-z,tupac,then Biggie, andrae from outcast, jada, kurupt, nas and then me(notice he put him and nas at the end of the list and Jay-z is at the top) he said it from his own mouth, listn to the record..need I say more???300 million and dame aint shit without Jay either…OOOOOOOOOOOOO nas feel off around 1999-2000, he got hot again after jay dissed him, did not jay bring the lil homie nas back to life?? be real, dont b an ass, he said it him…”Ya street dreamin, all yall niggas living thru me, i gave u life when niggas were forgetin u were an mc”(Blueprint2..song was blueprint 2nd verse) holla at me 1………..

Pac never did damage to Biggie. You Pac fans are dilusional. Biggie did respond to Pac, but in his own way. Go back and cop life after death and listen to long kiss good night. life after death is the biggest selling rap album of all time at 18 million copies. what damaga fool? i love pac and all, but the reality is he couldn’t even dent biggie’s armor. No way out sold 10 million copies, largely because of biggie. ashanti launched her career on a biggie track. jay-z made a career quoting him. 50’s first hot joint was a posthmous collabo with biggie. ever since biggie and puff, the rap world has been swimming in materialism, not revolutionary movements which is what PAC TRULY WAS ALL ABOUT. i am not truly a biggie fan, but the man was the best i have ever heard and i have heard them all from the very beginning. as a matter of fact most of you sucker dont truly love pac, you just like the way he attacked the east coast mesiah because so many hatre the east and deservedly so,they never loved anyone. but the mistake you made was that biggie was different, he had love for everyone: the west coast and especially the south. if biggie was alive today he would have worked with many southern artists and flowed over many of those hot ass southern beats. Imagine biggie flowing on davis banner’s like a pimp shiiiit.

q says:

and as far as jay goes. he is nice, lets be real. is he a king like big or pac. i don’t think so, but the reality is that JAY iS a very POWERFUL CROWNED PRINCE. kings dominate and biggie was certainly dominant. this brother reigned supreme in a rap world that consisted of pac, nas, deathrow, jay-z and the mighty WU TANG as a whole and as individual artists. those niggas were like fucking voltron and that nigga still stood out, BE FOR REAL!!!! BIGGIE WAS THE KING because HE TOWERED ABOVE OUTSTANDING COMPETITION, SHIT, his competitors were also dominant. IF HE WAS KING OF THE LAND, THOSE NIGGAS DEFINITELY HAD A SEAT ON THE ROUND TABLE.And for all you PAC lovers, B.I.G. does have the highest sales per cd. Life After Death sold 18 million alone and still counting and it is fully expected to be the first rap album to reach 20 million in world sales. so leave the PAC shit alone. Big and Jay are mirror inmages of each other. the only reason I say B.I.G. was a king and and jay is a VERY POWERFUL CROWNED PRINCE is because if they were heavyweight boxers, both would move with grace, speed, charisma, and siscipline, but B.I.G. has that knockout blow that Jay-Z lacks. In other words, Jay is not as convincing as b.i.g.on the mic. he is DEFINITELY as graceful as B.I.G.ON THE MIC, BUT FAR LESS POWERFUL. bUT TO Jay’s credit,He may not knock you out, but that nigga can sting yo ass and beat you the fuck for 12 rounds!!! so you hating ass niggas need to get off jay’s kcid. and for those that don’t know about royalty, the crowned prince is the prince that rules over the other princes: nas, snoop, luda, T.I. IS jay-z better than big? most objective observers would say no, but those same objective observers would also say no, but those same objective observers would also say he is sick wit his, cause Jay IS nice like that. NO you can’t judge jay on his commercial songs, but the same could be said of biggie and pac. stop hatin on the brother.

I must commend Jay-Z not only for his ability to make great hits; but his social responsibility as well. I get tired of hearing about the cars, the jewels, the what I haves and what you wish you could gets. (Yes, I said that right. Please try to keep up.) After all of the idiocrisy of rap music and some musicians, there needs to be some substance. I have been a Jay-Z since Reasonable Doubt, have seen him in concert, and have every album. Am I a dick rider?…only for my husband and QUALITY music. Those of you hater parents who have chosen to have hater kids I have one suggestion for you; please find the time to teach them the fundamentals of phonics, because I am having a hell of a time teaching the “cute, blinged out, fresh to death, non-spelling, non-critical thinking, fake ass ‘BALLIN’! socially inept” bunch of video emulators how to read. Thank God for Sean Carter. Thanks a million and have an awesomely blessed day.

Hahaha. no bullets = no career for Pac. Dumb ass retards on this page. Pac was the biggest rapper around even before he got shot in NY. Biggie bit off his album Pac still sold more. All his albums starting from 2pacalypse Now to Me Against the World went to #1. Pac was a legend before he got shot. “All Eyez on Me reached Platinum qualification in just 4 hours of its release, and reached #1 on the Billboard 200 charts.” Plus Jay Z steals lyrics not only from Pac but Biggie also so this nigga is fake. And he is mad gay. Him and his niggaz pepper sprayed R Kelly. How fruity is that. Pac and his niggaz used to break jaws like on the night he got shot.
