• Big Daddy Kane Plays Free Summer Concert In BK

    Legendary rap giant Big Daddy Kane will be coming back to his hometown to play at this year’s “Celebrate Brooklyn” concert series in Prospect Park.

    Presented by Lyricist Lounge, the show will feature Kane going through a set list of his greatest hits along with the accompaniment of a live band as well as unannounced special guests. Before the seminal rapper’s performance, there will be a screening of Anthony Marshall’s short documentary BDK: The Big Daddy Kane Story.

    Kane’s free concert is scheduled for Saturday, August 8 at 7 p.m. – Elan Mancini

    Dam this is going to be a good concert for free. If you live in New York or like to travel. You miss this concert you don’t like music at all. I have seen him in concert before. I had to pay. He put’s on a good show. That’s when he had the twins scop and scrap. Get off your azz and go to see the show New Yorkers!

    I just saw him at the beginning of last month but paid then back in 06 for free, but I also was able to see his show in 90 with Mr Cee Scoob and Scrap. Like I said about the Meth and Red Legend series, bring the kids so they can know what hip hop was and still is supposed to be about.

    This man is the Barry Sanders of Hip Hop! He stepped away when he had a LOT more left in him. He was just a DJ Premier away from having a couple more classic albums in the 90’s and a change of heart about a comeback, back around 01 or 02ish from building on his legacy. Definitely one of the top 3 greatest emcees of all time…Krs and Biggie get the other 2 spots!
