And thats expectable from DMX but not the Kast, I grew up on these guys. Heres what they need to do, drop a studio album of str8 spittin over Rico Wade’s finest. As a glimpse of hope though DubCnn.com juss premier’d a new Kast joint off of the soundtrack. Jon Caramanica said Morris Brown is the most noteworthy track well he must not have heard this track! I guess they added it before he review’d it. Anyways this shit is called Hollywood Divorce. It feature’s Lil Wayne and Snoop. I jus heard it and I caint stop bangin it. Classic Kast!, I look up to these niggas I hope they still have some classics in them.

The whole review is invalid. Kast didn’t even let XXL hear the real album. JON CARAMANICA hasn’t actually heard Idlewild. Of the songs that he was permitted to listen to, only 9 songs actually are on the real 25 song album.

So, the honest truth?

XXL took an “L” on this one and reviewed too early. The real album has 25 tracks and “On the way to heaven” isn’t even on there.

And God was right, Kast refused to pay Ola and we all know that XXL and Ola’s relationship has been going on for quite some time.

Truth is, and we all should know this by now, XXL has a wealth of mediocre talent that they try to sell to the masses as solid artists. To put Outkast at the top, where they belong, would mean that all of the artists that they rate are at about 50-60%.

For evidence of this please refer to “Hollywood Divorce”, a song that JON/XXL wasn’t allowed to listen to.

Now XXL will have to wait until the full album drops on the 22nd and re-review the whole album with their foot in their mouth becuase they couldn’t be honest reviewers in the first place.

And now, for the benediction…

Mighty O was tight, And I like Morris Brown but I don’t have very high expectations for Idle wild. I heard they were coming out with a real album later this year.

As a long time OutKast fan, I’m disapointed by this review. I think they do much better as a duo and even better when Andre raps. He is one of the best rappers. I like the fact that they try new shit, but it’s time to go back to OutKast 1996!

OutKast has been doing their thing since I was three. I went back and listened to their stuff and quite frankly they are the G.O.A.T. Now I’ve listened to ATCQ (which is my second favorite group of all time) and Run-D.M.C. and I still put OutKast at the top. OutKast has put out party jams and hip-hop. Something that a lot of rappers today don’t do. And to let you know about the new album. Most of the songs have a 30’s feel to it. The reason why is because the movie is based in the 30’s. So of course the music is gonna be different. Give it a chance and listen to the words. Some of the beats are pretty hot too. And all y’all “street niggas” that are getting on Andre for singing, what has 50 Cent been doing for a little while now? Singing in his songs. And if that’s not enough for you go to Jigga. Check out “My 1st Song”. Don’t know if you know but Jigga was hitting them notes. So calm that down. And stop sounding so ignorant. Through playing around here.

For starters i’m from the ATL an if it was not for outkast this southern takeover of hip hop would not have started.i hate to say this album was a disappointment.Yes its a movie soundtrack but I’m not feeling no 30’s era music.Dre is a lyrical master an he displays his mastery in spots all through this cd,but it was in between all the singing and corny sounding 30’s musical crap.To me Big Boi kinda like let dre just have this project maybe he saying i’m going to let this dude do his thing an if it flop maybe he’ll comeback to his senses an then we can go back to making that shit the people wanna here.For what its worth though at least four tracks on this album is worth the purchase they are Morris Brown,Hollywood Divorce,Mighty O,and Idlewild Blue.

Stankonia was the creative peak and Aquemini is ,next to Biggie’s Lifer After Death, the biggest epic in hip-hop history. For me, these two are their great masterpieces. ATLiens is so dope and Sperkerboxxx/The Love Below, though drifting away from hip-hop, is still extremely impressive. If that doesn’t make them the greatest rap group (with PE)… I like N.W.A. a lot, but their two albums can’t really compete with that.
So we can easily forgive them for making a weaker album, otherwise their consistency would have been scary.

This is an xl album. How you can give any less than that is crazy. but loyal kast fans know the score by now. Kast, and Andre 3000 mostly, dont get the props they deserve. The Train is the best song on the album.
