In it’s second week on the charts, Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak officially goes gold with overall sales numbers reaching 593,100. While the disc falls from the top slot on the Billboard 200 to number 4 it managed to push out 141,000 more copies this go around according to the Nielsen SoundScan.
Debuting at number 7 this week is Senegalese crooner Akon, with his third solo effort Freedom. Known for his catchy hip-hop hooks, Akon failed to top the 284,000 first week sales figures of his last album, 2006’s Konvicted. Led by the singles “I’m So Paid” featuring Lil’ Wayne and Young Jeezy and “Right Now (Na Na Na),”Freedom managed to sell 110,600 discs.
Ludacris drops to the number 15 spot this week, with his seventh album Theatre of the Mind. After debuting last week with sales figures nearing 280,000, Luda moved 65,300 copies of his disc in his second cycle on the charts. This brings his total numbers to 279,400.
Also making his foray onto the charts this week is Southern vet Scarface’s latest effort Emeritus. The rapper’s tenth studio album managed to sell 42,000 copies and land at the number 24 position on the charts. Emeritus is led by the Bilal-assisted single, “Can’t Get Right.”
Chi-Town MC Common will make his debut on the charts next week with the release of Universal Mind Control. The rapper is very confident with the album. He recently offering his own personal review of the record giving it a “XXL” rating. – Jesse Gissen

I’m glad to see Akon’s shit flopping like a fat bitch diving into a pool of water. He’s supposed to be a singing ass gangsta but this nigga’s only crime was selling bootleg shit like the rest them broke ass Africans. As a matter of face, lol @ everybody’s shit floppin especially Scarface. Rap legend my ass.
BTW - Common’s tree hugging sleeveless turtle neck wearing ass is going to flop too. Nobody wants to hear him rap over wack ass Planet Rock type beats.

Looks like nobody’s with you on the Face comment. Why is he not a legend to you, because his album isn’t movin’ major label units. He’s independent, makin’ more money with his sales than these major rappers movin’ more units. If you ain’t hearin’ Face on somebodies system drivin’ past you must be somewhere in the suburbs. You just don’t listen to him because he doesn’t: sing, autotune, bubblegum, lolli, lolli, or superman that ho.

Peru (Chicago) says:
This shit is really pathetic. Niggas are simply not buying CD’s like they used to. Get a new fuckin format already!!! Kill the CD and sell albums completely digital in a file format that can only have the original copied twice and the copies uncopy-able. Do a video for every song on the album and sell that on DVD at CD prices. Make that file format the same as the digital format for the album. That should force bootleggers to up their games. Just a suggestion!!!

and to CHEAA. get rich or die tryin came out in 2003. and stillmatic was far from a classic. seriously go back and listen to it. it wasn’t even all that hot when it dropped. people were just caught up in the ether hype. Untitled was one of the doppest albums this year though.

Gotta disagree with you on that one. Stillmatic was straight heat. Blueprint was a better album [Kanye's birth] but Still was tight as hell, I’m still bumpin’ “You’re da man” and “rewind” and that’s not even counting ether, one mic, 2nd Childhood, destroy & rebuild & what goes around [poison]
