The Louis Vutton Don strikes back. Kanye West addressed his recent UK arrest on his Kanyeuniversity blog this weekend.
In the entry, Yeezy criticized the papparazi’s “by any means necessary” mentality and suggested that their aggresive photo tactics should be outlawed before sharing his side of the incident.
“When I Left the club, I was encountered by a thirsty paparazzi as usual,” Ye wrote on his blog. “He felt he had more rights to my space than me, so I put my hand up to prevent him from taking my image. I didn’t assault him, but merely putting my hand up to cover his lens. My security yelled, ‘Get the camera off him.’ I guess in all the commotion the camera scraped his nose.”
“Three hours later I get a knock at my hotel door,” he continued. “There were five police officers in front of my room and I had no idea why. I had my security go speak with them. The cops were very cordial but told me they had to arrest me because a complaint was filed. That was the bogus part. They placed me in handcuffs and drove me to the station. They spoke about how this was obviously a publicity stunt by the photographer but they still had to go through the motions. Even though I wasn’t charged the damage was done. Sure enough the next morning, plastered across every media outlet, ‘Kanye gets arrested.’”
Ye’s been vocal all weekend long. The Chi-Town rapper/producer proclaimed himself the “voice of this generation” during an interview with the Associated Press. Yeezy said Justin Timberlake was an obvious pick for the title, but failed to release enough albums.
“I realize that my place and position in history is that I will go down as the voice of this generation, of this decade, I will be the loudest voice,” Ye told the AP. “It’s me settling into that position of just really accepting that it’s one thing to say you want to do it and it’s another thing to really end up being like Michael Jordan.”
“There were people who had the potential to do it but they went on vacation, so when Justin went on vacation I made albums,” he added. “And it just came out to be that.” -Bruce Moses

Fifty put his album back due to him knowing it aint good enough to compete, he hasnt got the same fanbase he had before `curtis` drove all of them away and I for one wont be buying another 50 album for as long as i live.

Bully, been waitin on u to address that. I thought GUK took ya spot kid! Anyhoo…
Yeez could be up for that spot, but how’s he gonna shoulder the burdens of the nxt gen when he can’t even keep his homotions from gettin the best of him in public. He’s a good musician, no dig, but dude aint the renaissance man he wants to be. He’s cryin bout awards & paps, singin bout locked down love & heartless heffers, what they gotta do with the eryday struggles niggas go thru from Afrika to America to Australia? I’ve yet to hear any passion bout black crime, living conditions, race relations. Just pseudo-bravado rants bout his clothing & his tussle with being young & wealthy. Sorry, but I need a lil more substance in a leader. I don’t think he’s even aware that right now is the time for evolution, not revolution. I can’t risk leavin that notion in the hands of a man who considers himself a “fashionista”. Thumbs up on the music, Mr. West, but a big no thanks on the Jesse Jackson impersonation. I’m by far not a hater, I’ve BOUGHT all his albums, & will continue to do so, but I scoop ‘em for musical content, not fuckin social commentary.

Cap & Marv, I feel yall, that is another way of lookin @ it. But, maybe its because I’m in my thirties, and I’m not really a “part” of the new generation”, so I don’t get it. I’m every bit as much a dedicated member of the HipHop Movement as anyone else bloggin, but its too much extra goin on in his lfe that would need attendin to, n my opinion, before he could step to the plate and organize ppl. Its beyond the music, because being a “voice” expands much further than Billboard top 50, and Mtv awards, but its kinda like a dude across the street from u, who is mad intelligent, got his head together (no homo), handles his biz, but his kids r bad as fuck, & his wife cheats on him. Not to mention he doesn’t cut his lawn and is always fussin @ his family. He’s not gonna garner the same admiration as a total package would, or @ least not enought admiration to be the head of the block commitee. In no way am I sayin he can’t be the leader he wants to be, but to me, just not right now. It seems like just another one of those egomaniacal acts that he’s known for. I don’t think anyone exist right now that can speak for ALL the youth, but he is a good candidate with a promising start. If we can just get him to stop beatin up niggas with cameras. Next hell be slappin the shit outta kids when they approach him for autographs lol. Hell be on some G-UNOT KILLA shit, slappin taste outta erybody mouths and extortin ‘em for his time. But, hey, more power to any african american man with positivity somewhere in his agenda, word to Barak Obama.
